Julaine Guitton Named Principal of Stavely School

Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Julaine Guitton has been named Principal of Stavely School beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.

Guitton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Lethbridge, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Education from the University of Alberta. She has more than 20 years of Kindergarten through Grade 12 classroom teaching experience in schools throughout Livingstone Range School Division. She is an Alberta Teachers’ Association Indigenous Education Award Winner (2021) and a Lighthouse Beacon Reviewer with Leader In Me.

Superintendent Darryl Seguin welcomes Guitton to this new role. “As the Leader in Me Lighthouse Leader at Stavely School, Julaine has played a significant role in the school's growth and improvement over the years,” says Seguin. “Having worked at Stavely School for the past ten years, Julaine's deep connection to, and understanding of the school community will serve her well in making the transition to the school principal.”

Guitton is excited for her new leadership opportunity with a school community she loves. “I am a proud advocate for rural education,” she says, “and I look forward to continuing to bring outstanding education and experiences to the students and families at Stavely School.”

Having grown up on a ranch in Southern Alberta, Guitton now lives on a farm with her husband and their two sons. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, and reading, and travelling when the mountains of Disney call to her. She serves in her community and is currently a 4-H leader, combining her true passions of agriculture and working with kids.

Congratulations to Julaine Guitton on her new role.
