End of the Year

Good morning everyone - I hope you are all excited for the last two days of school. We all have mixed emotions as the year ends...we'll miss each other but also look forward to relaxed summer days. Students are busy bringing home extra supplies, found clothes/mittens/toques, art projects, school work etc. All families are welcome to come by the school to help your child bring home their belongings.

Tomorrow, at 10:30 a.m. in the gymnasium, is our year-end assembly. It will be approximately 1/2 hour. During that time, we will have our year-end video and the Galaxy Award presentation by Stavely Education Foundation. All families are welcome to join us. All students receive a free ticket to slack which begins at 1 p.m. We will not be going there as a school simply because it is so close to the end of the day and we don't want to miss the bus.

All students made a tie-dye shirt this week as their end-of-the-year gift and are asked to wear it tomorrow for our assembly. It was a fun project!! We sure hope they enjoy it and remember 2022 fondly when they wear it. I also gave each student a book to read over the summer. I hope they enjoy it as well.

Report cards will be distributed today, so please keep an eye out for them in their agenda (or backpack, if they have misplaced their agenda). Please contact the school immediately if you do not receive a report card. Kindergarten report cards were distributed yesterday.

All school supply lists are included in the family envelope (including grade 7 supply lists). The supply lists are also on our website. You can order school supplies through the company listed and they are delivered directly to the school or you can purchase them yourself.

Our Meet 'n Greet BBQ is Friday, August 26th @ 12:00 p.m. - all families are welcome to come to the school, meet your teacher, drop off supplies and have a hot dog/burger. We hope to see you then!! We will also be working on our Stavely School float for Stavely Days parade at that time. Everyone is welcome to help us!!

The first day of school is August 31st, 2022.

RODEO FAMILIES - Please remember to keep your report cards handy because you will need to submit them in August to National High School Rodeo Association. When we roll data over, we no longer have access to print report cards for students.

TD SUMMER READING PROGRAM IS BACK in the Stavely Library on Wed. afternoons from 1 – 2:30pm. This year’s theme is Once Upon a Time; Myths and Legends. ”The fun and excitement will begin on Wed. July 13th and continue once a week until Wed. August 17 th with a variety of games, crafts, stories and prizes. Each participant has a chance to win a grand prize at each library when the program ends!  All children 12 years and under are encouraged to participate. Register your child to get the official club notebook and stickers by contacting the library. Studies show that kids who keep reading all summer do better when they return to school in the fall. TD Summer Reading Club is a great way to keep them engaged.

 The TD SRC  Kids' Site  was launched on June 13 if you want to check the website out
 TD SRC  Staff Site if you want to use the Social media posts.

Please note that our last day of school is Friday, June 17th, 2022. The school is closed after that date. Please make sure your child has all of their belongings by tomorrow.

We hope you all have a wonderful summer!!

See you tomorrow,

Leanne Watson, Principal
